Citizen Science Air Quality Project

The Air Quality citizen Science project represents an exciting and important pathway for engaging the next generation with important environmental issues. As part of this project, low-cost air quality sensors were deployed in three schools. The air quality sensors measure air quality parameters and web-cast the data in real-time, providing a unique and valuable opportunity to raise awareness on air quality issues and facilitate valuable citizen science research into variation of air quality in urban and rural environments. Schools are able to assess the quality of the air they breathe, compare to other schools and research into factors affecting air quality.
